Silah is an interactive Arabic-letters learning app for children, used together by teachers, students and parents. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Silah is designed for children aged 5–9, so we collect the minimum information needed to run the service and nothing more. We do not show advertising, we do not sell personal information, and we do not share children’s information with third parties for marketing.
When a child creates an account themselves, we ask for a parent or guardian’s email address and send that parent a consent request. Parents can contact us at any time to review or delete their child’s information.
Account details: a name, email address and role (teacher, student or parent), and an optional avatar picture and phone number.
Learning activity: lesson and practice results (scores, streaks, badges, letters practised) so teachers and parents can follow progress.
Voice recordings: when a speaking exercise is used, the child’s short voice clip is processed only to check pronunciation and is never stored — it is transcribed in memory and immediately discarded.
Device information: a push-notification token when notifications are enabled, and basic technical logs (errors, crashes) to keep the app working.
To run lessons and practice, show progress to the child’s teacher and linked parents, send reminder and progress emails, and keep the service safe and reliable. AI features (lesson generation, pronunciation checking) run with strict child-safety settings.
You can delete an account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete account). Deleting an account removes the sign-in, personal details, devices and avatar; a child’s learning history is anonymised so classroom records stay accurate without identifying the child.
